Basics of Mass Media Sociology and European Integration

This course aims at developing students' ability to use sociological methods of research in emerging (Russian Federation) and mature European markets. Developing the ability of students to use sociological methods of research in emerging and mature markets, and via critical thinking to learn the reasons for the emergence of Mass Media Sociology as an applied instrument to measure different parameter of contemporary media process, form a clear idea that Mass Media Sociology studies the characteristics of the media market, sociological research of consumers’ behaviour and journalistic information as an object of research.
